This book tells the story of acclaimed Texas chef, Jack Gilmore, and gives readers a glimpse into the popular Austin-area Jack Allen's Kitchen restaurants. Jack's thoughts on food and entertaining come through in over 150  recipes that feature fresh, seasonal Texas ingredients. Profiles and photos of the local farmers who supply the restaurants round out the experience.

Recipes were structured according to Jack's organizing principles of horizontal columns for ingredients and vertical sections for steps rather than the typical list format.

Seasonal chapters were differentiated by color and edge striping. 

Matching head & tail bands and ribbon prove no detail is too small.
